Performance
Duration: 20-30min
Special thanks to: Iris Bruijnen and Jimi E. Hendrix

A performance with two outcomes: either break free, or be integrated completely. This performance researches how corsages can impact an individual. The bodice of human pilgrimage through life; what does repeatedly fitting squares into circles create? The outcome is not decided until the process is going on.

Description:
This performance has two outcomes; either broken free (I) or being integrated completely (II). The set-up is each time the same, but the reactions are different; forming a different conclusion. When trying to break free; resistance to the layers occur. Or when accepting the new bodice, acceptance by trying to move and shape oneself with it becomes the focus.
START – I am lying on the ground, fetal position. Slowly waking up, turning on my back, feeling and trying my body as if for the first time. As soon as I get up, LAYERS are added:
1. Tight shirt and skirt are being put on me, by two neutrally looking people, who force me back down on the ground.
2. Sheets, more sheets
3. Ropes, attached to poles
4. More clothes and sheets
5. Food & drinks are sprayed and thrown on top
6. Plastics
7. Materials from the surroundings: either natural or man-made
Conclusion I or II.
